What is restorative yoga?
Restorative yoga is a gentle and calming style of yoga designed to promote deep relaxation and stress relief. It involves holding passive, supported poses for extended periods, allowing the body and mind to rest and rejuvenate. Using props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks, restorative yoga creates a fully supported environment to ease tension, improve circulation, and calm the nervous system. This practice is particularly beneficial for reducing stress, improving sleep, and fostering a sense of balance and inner peace.
During a group restorative yoga session, you can expect a calming and supportive environment designed to help you unwind and relax deeply. The class will involve a series of passive poses held for several minutes, with the support of props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks to ensure your comfort and alignment. I will guide you through mindful breathing techniques and gentle cues to release tension, calm the mind, and create a sense of balance. The room may have soft lighting, soothing music, or aromatherapy to enhance relaxation. Group sessions often foster a sense of community, while allowing you to focus inward and reconnect with your body and mind. By the end of the session, you’ll feel restored, rejuvenated, and deeply at ease.
Private Yoga Sessions
During a private yoga session, you can expect a personalized practice tailored to your individual needs, goals, and experience level. Before our session we will complete a brief consultation to understand your intentions, any physical limitations, and areas of focus, such as relaxation, strength-building, flexibility, or stress relief. The session may include a combination of breathwork, movement, guided meditation, and poses designed specifically for you. Props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps may be used to support your practice and ensure proper alignment. With one-on-one guidance, you’ll receive personalized adjustments and feedback to deepen your practice safely and effectively. By the end of the session, you’ll feel balanced, rejuvenated, and more in tune with your body and mind.
